Brilliant and growing stronger

(Review of: Almost Human)

This buddy cop story might sound like slightly familiar ground, but actually there is nothing like it, in successfully created science fiction. It seemlessly blends phillip k dick like surreal future darkness, with a crime solving partnership that works very well. The energy between the main stars works very well, with lots of comedic moments. Michael Ealy as "Dorian" blends sensitivity, intuition, and comedic wackiness seemlessly in a complete reversal of the android stereotype.

The visuals are movie quality. The sound track is movie quality..excellently done. As the series moves on, the chemistry between the two main characters, their individual depths, the broader plotline and additional characters become drawn in, such as rudy lom (played by mackensie cook), who plays an enjoyable eccentric techy. While I was very excited to see the series pilot, I was even more excited to see the most recent episode, where I can see the show is really getting into its stride.

The plot is not overly intellectual, very much a tightly paced action sci-fi, but there are philosophical and other quandries that simmer in the background.

Honestly I am not surprised. Because the creators of fringe, went their own way, and collectively have created sleepy hollow, and this show. I almost expected both of to be highlights in american sci-fi tv, well cast, well written, good concepts - and they both very much are.
