Rehash

I was excited about this movie because I really like the Resident Evil movie franchise. Acting, visuals, music, and special effects are all about the same level that you would expect from a Resident Evil movie. The place where this movie drops the ball is in the story. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but the plot of this movie absolutely sucks and is very single track minded, even by Resident Evil standards. There is a cliffhanger at the end that sets us up for what will hopefully be a better follow-on, but they would have been better off by producing this movie as a 5 minute short film that you could watch on the web before the next one comes out. There is pretty much no reason to see this movie unless you are like me and absolutely have to see every Resident Evil movie that comes out. No new characters, and little change to the universe in terms of who is a bad guy and who is a good guy.
