Looper (2012)
Reviews
Brilliant
Looper is definitelly the best film I've seen in 2012. The directing, performances, and plot are all top notch.
Rian Johnson may become my favorite director working today. Bruce Willis haven't been this badass since Die Hard and Joseph Gordon Levitt gave a great Bruce Willis impression.
The time travel concept is easy enough to understand, in fact several times in the film they refuse to dive too far into the possible complexities of it, which is fine by me.
Overall the film was brilliant and I recommend it to everyone!
Amazing
This movie is absolutely amazing, and only Rian Johnson could have made it this well. He was able to create such a unique sci-fi world that was both foreign yet oddly familiar, and populate this world with touchingly human characters. I love sci-fi movies, and when a scif-i movie goes the extra mile and give the viewer something to think about,
Great
I have finally watched this movie, and I loved the hell out of it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is great playing the main character and Bruce Willis is the same with his. The film is confusing due to its time travel methods but in the end it all came to me.
Predictable
I wasn't overly impressed by this movie as once the story got going, the plot was fairly predictable, and for being a movie about the time travel & the future, it felt more like a strange alternate universe than a believable point in the future.
Not sure
I don't know why I don't feel anything about this movie. I love sci-fi but Looper....umm, can't really place it. I have this feeling gnawing at me that it's a great movie and I have missed something, only I don't know what. The one single thought pulsating inside me while watching it was "when is the movie going to end?"
Not good as the hype
While Looper has a very strong first half, boasting an atmospheric and realistic future setting where hit-men in the present take care of the future, the film begins to fall apart once the Omen child screams the house down. Literally.
Could not even watch the movie!
Behind in the times in upgrading to a Blu-Ray player and figured this would be a good movie to watch. I was wrong and could not get interested in this movie at all. I did give it three chances and never made it past a quarter of the way through. I just didn't get it at all.
Interesting
A smart, entertaining thriller that is probably best to watch without knowing anything about it. It's a sci-fi story set slightly in the future, but I appreciate that it doesn't get into sci-fi technobabble, but instead just tells an interesting story with an extremely satisfying ending. It's been awhile since I've seen a movie in this genre that I liked as much as this one.
